At KPS in 2024 music classes have commenced for all children from Foundation to Year 6.

Music at Keysborough P.S. is seen as supporting the overall wellbeing and academic learning of all students. Our focus is enjoyment, with a particular emphasis on developing a love of singing.

Students begin by learning songs, chants, and rhymes with actions while developing an understanding of rhythms, beats and tempo. They continue by dancing and moving to music, and exploring a range of tuned and untuned percussion instruments.

Students investigate music from other cultures, including the indigenous community, learning about different musical styles and researching artists.

Performance opportunities include presentations at assemblies where our whole community can share in their learning journey.
