Wellbeing Activities for parents / carers to do at home with their children
Positive education is a whole-school mental health promotion strategy that aims to cultivate wellbeing in students, staff and the school community (Norrish, Williams, O’Connor, & Robinson, 2013).
Keysborough Primary School acknowledges the need for schools to focus on the growth of the whole child, including social, emotional and moral aspects, in addition to traditional academic learning (Waters, 2011; White, 2011).
The overarching theory of Positive Education which is implemented at Keysborough Primary School, Wellbeing program is delivered through Respectful Relationships, Zones of Regulation and The Virtues Project.
FISO 2.0 with its central focus on Wellbeing in equity with Learning, gives guidance for all staff in providing a positive climate for learning and when available, the Wellbeing capabilities will inform our teacher practice even further.
The General Capabilities remain a focus and part of our assessment practices. The capabilities are key to developing confident and well rounded 21st century
learners.
